Short Bio

Paraskevas Bakopoulos obtained his PhD in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the National Technical University of Athens and is a senior researcher at the Photonics Communications Research Laboratory, ICCS/NTUA. His research interests are focused on the development of high-capacity optical networks and optical interconnect systems for datacom and computercom applications. Paraskevas is currently working in H2020 collaborative research project NEPHELE investigating novel optical network architectures for disaggregated datacenters as well as in FP7 project MIRAGE on terabit capacity optical interconnect systems. He has been involved in several other EU collaborative projects in FP7, FP6 and ESA (e.g. APACHE, GALACTICO, EURO-FOS). Paraskevas has authored or co-authored more than 80 publications in IEEE and OSA peer-reviewed journals and conferences and also holds one patent.
