The Photonics Communications Research Laboratory (PCRL), coordinator of the LaiQa Project, successfully organized the latest project review meeting, where consortium partners presented progress, discussed technical achievements, and defined the next steps.

During the meeting, partners shared updates across the projectโ€™s main work packages, highlighting progress in polarization-based Silicon-on-Insulator (SOI) photonic integrated circuit (PIC) technologies and the development of key LaiQa components. Discussions also covered system integration, performance validation, and upcoming milestones.

The review was an important checkpoint to align technical activities across the consortium and ensure steady progress in line with the projectโ€™s objectives and timeline.

LaiQa is a research and innovation project that aims to develop key technologies for future space-based quantum communication networks, enabling highly secure communication over long distances using Quantum Key Distribution (QKD).

The meeting confirmed the strong progress of the project and the consortiumโ€™s commitment to achieving the next planned results, including laboratory and field demonstrations.
