Dr. Costis Christogiannis obtained his MSc in Electrical Engineering in 1991 from the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA). In 1997 he obtained his PhD from the same university, working on the electromagnetic modeling and the exploration of holographic materials and optical setups for data storage.

In 1998 he joined the Telecommunications Laboratory of the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) of NTUA, participating as a Senior researcher in numerous ESPRIT, FP5, FP6 and FP7 Projects in the domains of performance modeling and estimation, of distributed High-Performance Computing as well as on Grid and Cloud Architectures.  

Since 2009 he has been working as Senior Research Engineer in the staff of the Photonics Communication Research Laboratory (PCRL) of the ECE School, focusing on the project management and coordination of several photonics-related European research projects of FP7, Horizon 2020 and Horizon Europe Programmes, which PCRL leads as coordinator or participates as beneficiary.

His research interests are in the field of high-speed photonic communications, the development of photonic integrated circuits (PICs), hybrid (photonics-RF) solutions for wireless telecommunications systems (5G and beyond) etc.
