On 18–19 March 2026, partners of the PHOREVER Project gathered for the 8th Plenary Meeting at the premises of LioniX International in the Netherlands, where they reviewed the project’s progress, shared updates across all work packages and discussed the next steps.
PHOREVER focuses on improving the detection of extracellular vesicles (EVs) in blood, which can provide important information about diseases such as cancer and cardiovascular conditions. Due to their very small size, EVs are difficult to detect with current technologies.
To address this, the project is developing a multi-sensing photonic platform that combines flow cytometry, optical coherence tomography, and fluorescence sensing. The goal is to enable more accurate, compact, and efficient diagnostic solutions.
As project coordinator, PCRL leads the consortium’s efforts towards advancing photonic technologies for next-generation biomedical diagnostics.
