The Photonics Communications Research Laboratory (PCRL) will actively contribute to this year’s European Conference on Optical Communications (ECOC 2025) with presentations on quantum communications and hybrid optical-wireless technologies.
👨🏫 Workshops & Talks (Sunday, Sept 28, 14:00–15:30)
-
Giannis Giannoulis will join Workshop 12: “Is the access network ready to host quantum technologies?”. His talk will focus on the coexistence of classical and quantum key distribution (QKD) signals over PON and optical access infrastructures.
📑 Poster Presentations (Wednesday, Oct 1, 11:00–12:30 | Exhibition)
- Evrydiki Kyriazi will present: “Hybrid FSO/mmWave Industry 5.0 System Enabled by Ultra-Fast Tunable PZT-based External Cavity Laser.”
This research showcases a hybrid free-space optics/mmWave system tailored for Industry 5.0 applications, with proven reliability over 5 km fiber and 5 m wireless links.
-
Argiris Ntanos will present: “SMF-Coupled Compact Ground Terminal with Advanced Filtering Towards Daylight C-Band Satellite QKD.”
This work demonstrates a compact, high-isolation C-band optical ground terminal for satellite QKD, achieving record >120 dB daylight suppression and validating integration with urban fiber segments.
