We are pleased to announce that Stathis Andrianopoulos, researcher at the Photonics Communications Research Laboratory (PCRL), will participate in this year’s European Microwave Week (EuMW2025) in Utrecht.
On Sunday, September 21, Stathis will present during the WS-07 Integrated Microwave Photonics, his talk, “Optical beamforming networks for single- and multi-beam operation for next generation communication networks” that will focus on how photonics can unlock new possibilities for high-capacity, flexible and efficient wireless systems.
Microwave photonics is becoming a key enabler for next-generation communication technologies like 6G. With optical beamforming, we can go beyond the limits of traditional RF systems and build networks that are more flexible, powerful, and energy-efficient. PCRL’s work in this area shows how advanced research can quickly translate into real solutions for the communication systems of the future.
The presented work is part of the POLYNICES Project, the SPRINTER Project, and the TERA6G Project.
