The SPRINTER consortium gathered on 29–30 October 2025 at Ericsson R&D Center in Genoa for its 8th Plenary Meeting.
As project coordinator, PCRL joined all partners for two intensive days of technical sessions, discussions, and planning. The agenda covered the latest progress on hybrid photonic integrated circuits (PICs) for time-critical industrial networks — including transceiver development, packaging and system-level integration.
Partners presented advancements on high-speed hybrid PIC modules (HHI, NVIDIA, LXI, CSEM, UC3M), system integration and validation (IMEC, ICCS, NVIDIA-ICOM, TEI, FILL), and packaging activities (PHIX, UC3M, HHI). Further updates focused on network management architecture (CMC, NVIDIA) and dissemination, exploitation and clustering (FILL, TEI, ICCS, NVIDIA).
The meeting also featured a guided tour of the Ericsson Lab and a social dinner in the city center, offering a great opportunity for team bonding and informal exchange.
As SPRINTER approaches its final review, the consortium continues to advance hybrid photonic integration technologies for next-generation communication systems.
