🚀 TWILIGHT Project at IEEE Summer Topicals 2025

We’re proud to share that Dr. Maria Spyropoulou from PCRL/ICCS  presented results from the TWILIGHT project at the IEEE Summer Topicals 2025 held on July 21–23 in Berlin, Germany.

Her presentation, titled “InP photonics and InP-DHBT electronics co-integration for high capacity and scalable datacenter interconnect applications” (TuG2.1), introduced a new optical transceiver design that combines InP photonics with InP-DHBT electronics, achieving speeds of 112 Gbaud per lane.

This work supports faster and more energy-efficient datacenter connections and reflects the progress made within the EU-funded Horizon Europe TWILIGHT project, which focuses on next-generation photonics-electronics packaging technologies.

The TWILIGHT project, coordinated by PCRL, focuses on next-generation packaging technologies that combine photonics and electronics. This work marks an important step forward for high-speed and energy-efficient datacenter interconnects.
